Students perform at Cathedral City High School’s first Stardust Expo

While the Coachella Music & Arts Festival is underway, Cathedral City High School brings young, local talent into the spotlight.

Matt Howe, the director of bands at Cathedral City High School, coordinated the Stardust Performing Arts Expo.

“We were thinking that because there’s Coachella going on and all these other things that are going on, we would like to have something that helps support the performing arts around the valley,” Howe shared with News Channel 3.

The showcase featured jazz bands, theater groups, drum lines, and more from high schools and middle schools throughout the valley.

Howe shared the Expo is a chance for students to showcase their talents to friends and family and also practice for future competitions.

All funds raised at the Stardust Expo are used toward scholarship opportunities for students involved in the performing arts.
