Annual Rosie Casals & Jackie Cooper Tennis event held at Indian Ridge Country Club

The Indian Ridge Country Club held the Second Annual Rosie Casals and Jackie Cooper Team Tennis Pro-Am. Players of all ages formed teams and competed in matches throughout the day. The event supports the Love and Love Foundation, dedicated to providing instruction to young athletes.

“We started that [Love and Love Foundation] because we felt there was a need in the desert to try and develop junior tennis and promote it and help it financially. There are various academies, and a lot of junior organizations. It doesn’t matter what level you’re starting, whether you’re starting at the grassroots programs or real good players, we want to help them and really promote the desert.”

This year’s Jackie Cooper Award went to Charlie Pasarell for his contributions to tennis in the valley. Rosie Casals says last year the event raised around $35,000 through entry fees, a live auction, raffle, and donations.
