Hundreds of students learn about renewable energy from experts

Local middle and high school students are learning about renewable energy.

Hundreds of them attended the sixth annual Environmental and Sustainability Expo Friday.

First Alert Chief Meteorologist Haley Clawson spoke to 300 students at the California State University San Bernadino Palm Desert campus.

She covered different career paths in geo-science fields.

The CEO of Renova Energy, also spoke to the students, telling his story about changing from advocate to activist in solar energy.

Students then broke off into groups for interactive presentations, learning about the future of renewable energy.
