Palm Springs’ most expensive home sells

A home in Palm Springs is a record-breaker, and is reportedly the most expensive home ever sold in the city.

The 8,060 square foot home in the old Las Palmas neighborhood on N. Patencio Road just sold for nearly $6 million.

That makes it the highest recorded sale in history within the city of Palm Springs, according to the Multiple Listing Service records, says realtor Scott Histed.

The man responsible for the historic sale says the architect behind the home’s design surrounded it with 11 water features for one particular purpose.

“He wanted to make the house feel like it was floating. One of a kind, amazing. Everywhere you look there is something interesting and special,” says Histed.

The house has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a number of glass walls. There’s also a two bedroom “mother-in-law apartment,” tennis courts, and a guest house for dogs on the 1.48 acre property.

No word on the identity of the buyer.

The home was built in 2007.
