Coachella jewelry store robbed, police searching for suspect
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirms that a business on the 50-000 block of Harrison Street was robbed by an armed suspect around 3:20 this afternoon.
According to Deputy Armando Munoz, “the suspect left on foot after taking property and money from the business. Police are actively at the scene looking for the suspect.”
Once we arrived on scene we were able to confirm that Don Victor Jewelers was the target of the robber. The front glass door was broken, and inside we have seen several glass cases that have been smashed.
This is the second time this jewelry store had been robbed at gun point this year. On Feb. 4 a man with a gun stole cash and merchandise.
The Sheriff’s Department has not released a description of the suspect, but an employee of the store told KESQ & CBS Local 2 that he was a Hispanic male.
If you have any information on this robbery you are urged to call Valley Crimestoppers at 760 341-STOP.
