Data overage charges may be connected to iOS 10 update

iOS 10 is the latest upgrade for iPhone users. A number of new perks come with the upgrade, but hidden in fine print and a lengthy list of terms and conditions is the “Wi-Fi Assist” feature. When connected to Wi-Fi, and if Wi-Fi Assist is on, your data can be used for stronger connection and there is no notification to let you know when it’s being used. This can cause people to be hit with data overage charges. The feature is automatically turned on once you update to iOS 10. You have to manually turn off the feature if you don’t want your data to be accessed while connected to Wi-Fi. People were shocked to find out about the feature and say they wish they could have received a notification upon downloading the iOS 10. To check your Wi-Fi Assist settings; go to Settings > Cellular. Then scroll all the way down to Wi-Fi Assist.
