Cowboys, cowgirls and gamblers were out Saturday in the Valley

Cowboys, cowgirls and gamblers were out Saturday night, enjoying a Western themed evening under the stars at the Regency Ranch in Rancho Mirage.

The evening was expected to bring roughly $50,000 for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Desert.

There were casino tables, mechanical bull-riding and even square dancing and live music. The evening also included a paintball shooting gallery, photo booth and whiskey saloon. Proceeds from the silent auction and live auctions would also benefit the non-profit organization.

“You got to be a mentor,” said “Big” John, who emceed the evening. “I mean, to change a life like that, you have to do it.”

All proceeds will go to Big brothers, Big Sisters of the Desert, a non-profit organization that helps mentor children 6 to 18 years old.

If you missed the event this year, you can always look ahead to the next one. To connect with BBBSD, visit BBBSDesert.org.
