Palm Desert firefighter forced to hunker down in hotel hit by Hurricane Irma
A Cal Fire firefighter based out of Fire Station 33 in Palm Desert is now stuck in Hurricane Irma’s path of destruction on the islands of Turks and Caicos.
Joshua Livingston has been vacationing on the island for his birthday.
“You know, I’m anxious about the storm. I’ve never been through a hurricane.I have an idea of what to expect, but there’s always that part of you just doesn’t know what’s going to happen,” Livingston said over Skype to our media affiliates KABC in Los Angeles.
Livingston has supplies and has been moved to a room on the second floor of his hotel. Fellow firefighters have not been able to contact him since 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
