Several restaurants forced to adjust Valentine’s Day plans due to rain
Due to a chance of rain in the forecast, several restaurants in downtown Palm Springs are being forced to adjust their plans to accommodate guests on Valentine’s Day.
Restaurant owners say the holiday is usually one of the busiest nights of the year but for those with outdoor seating the rain might impact business. Wille Rhine, co-owner of “849,” a popular spot downtown, says they are not taking any outdoor reservations for the night just to be safe.
“We are really lucky we have a huge patio but we also have a really large indoor dining room and lounge so we booked valentines day in there just in case we get rain,” Rhine said.
Paul Bruggemans, co-owner of “Le Vallauris,” a popular spot downtown, says they had to call guests and make cancellations.
“With the weather being inclement this coming Thursday we had to cancel about 100 reservations because our terrace is going to be closed, unfortunately,” Bruggemans said.
Las Casuelas Terrazza said the rain could impact 30 of their tables as well.
