Palm Springs Unified School District: Parents, pick up children as soon as possible

Palm Springs Unified School District is asking parents to pick up their children from school ‘as soon as possible’.

“Hello Palm Springs Unified families. As you may know the forecast is that the rain will continue which will worsen the local road conditions,” read the announcement. “Although this is not an emergency, we are asking all district parents to pick up their children as soon as possible. If your child rides the bus, we are expecting significant delays.”

According to the announcement, children will be supervised at their respective schools until buses or other rides arrive. The District’s autodialer system will alert parents is buses are delayed over a half hour past their usual departure times.

The alert also addresses after-school program cancellations.

“Also please note that all ASES programs in the District have been canceled, and tonight’s Science Fair/STEAM Expo has been postponed until Tuesday, Feb. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Richards Center.,” read the announcement.
