Indio man booked on suspicion of child sex abuse
A 25-year-old Indio man was behind bars today on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a teenage female over a roughly 18-month period.
Police said Pablo Loma Cimiento, 25, surrendered around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Indio police station after detectives tried finding him at his home and workplace, according to Indio police spokesman Ben Guitron.
Guitron said someone reported the alleged abuse to police in November, and Cimiento had been under investigation ever since. The girl is believed to have been about 14 years old when the alleged abuse began, according to police and court records.
Cimiento was booked on suspicion of eight felonies, including willful harm to a child and lewd acts with a minor who is either 14 or 15 years old, according to jail records. He remains in custody on $75,000 bail.
