Crews start setting up for KIND Music Festival

Despite the weather, crews were out turning the future site of Tyson Ranch into a music festival destination for this weekend. The scattered showers actually helped with the setup, said a festival producer.

“The rain has really helped compact the sand and soil so it’s made it easier to do the setup,” said Jason Benavidez, a producer for the festival.

The festival is at Mike Tyson’s 400-acre plot of land on 65555 Varner Road, soon to be “Tyson Ranch,” described as “an entertainment complex, luxury glamping resort, and cannabis research & design facility in Desert Hot Springs.”

“Pools, lazy river, entertainment complex, and Desert Hot Springs is a cannabis-friendly city so there will be that element tied to it,” Benavidez said.

Benavidez says more than 5,000 people are expected to attend the festival.

“Food, music, there’s going to be a beer garden, a giant festival up here,” Benavidez said.

The KIND Music Festival will be held this Saturday starting at 2 PM. The line-up for the festival includes Miguel, A$AP Ferg, Stagecrawler, Yonee, Mac Ayres, and All My Friends Hate Me.
