‘Stop the Hate’ campaign kicks off at Raymond Cree Middle School

Friday, students at one Palm Springs middle school kicked off the “Stop the Hate” awareness campaign.

The event included a presentation from Pastor Robert L. Cummings, Sr., who spoke with students at Raymond Cree Middle School about the power of positive connections, the need for compassion, and the importance of respecting other’s differences.

“Words are powerful. With the same tongue, I can speak negative words and hurt someone, with the same tongue I can speak love words and help you,” Cummings said.

Students submitted art pieces that showed their vision of a world free of hate and prejudice.

Next month, an art gala and parent night with Pastor Cummings will be held continuing the Stop the Hate campaign.
