‘Wonder of Women’ celebrates valley’s difference makers

Women were celebrated at the Westin Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage today.

The 14th Annual Eisenhower Health’s ‘Wonder of Women’ event. Women from across the valley gathered to shop, have lunch, and meet others who are making a difference in our community.

This year’s event benefitted ‘Safehouse of the Desert,’ the valley’s only youth emergency shelter. The organization’s executive director, Kathy McAdara, was honored.

“I’m actually one of the people that’s getting honored. I think its called the ‘Safehouse Hero’ award and the committee did it for me,” McAdara said.

One of the goals today was to raise enough money to hire a drug counselor for Safehouse. The audience came through donating thousands of dollars. News Channe 3 anchor Karen Devine served as a co-auctioneer for the event.
