Free health clinic this weekend in Indio
California Careforce will be offering free health, dental, and vision care this weekend in Indio.
The clinic will be held this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Riverside County Fairgrounds on 46517 Arabia St in Indio.
Officials say they have a no questions asked policy, so anyone, regardless of insurance, residency, or immigration status can get help.
” Sometimes there are problems you can’t help and this clinic will help a lot of people you know that don’t have the opportunity to go get medical help, ” said Jerry Salazar, a Coachella Valley resident.
The clinic will have 70 dental chairs, 20 medical exam rooms, and 10 vision lanes. Over 500 medical professionals from across the state are projected to volunteer. A vision lab will produce free prescription eyeglasses on-site. Dentistry will include x-rays, cleanings, fillings, and extractions in addition to partial dentures. Medical doctors will provide services ranging from consultation and diagnosis to minor medical procedures while nurses will staff triage areas and provide medical assistance.
Patients are also eligible for rides to and from the clinic on SunLine Transit Agency’s fixed route bus service.
Wristbands will be distributed for next day service Thursday at 4 pm, Friday at 4 p.m, and Saturday at 4 p.m.
