Rich Tarpening

Rich Tarpening is currently the Assignment Manager for Gulf California Broadcasting. Rich manages the daily newsroom operations and helps plan for short-term and long-term news stories for all our stations, KESQ , KDFX , CBS Local 2 and Telemundo 15. Rich also oversees the News Channel 3’s I-Team, helping to plan and organize

investigative reports that run throughout the year.

Rich began his career in the Desert in 1990 working at KMIR-TV and has been with News Channel 3 since 2007. Rich has been awarded 6 Emmy Awards and in 2018 was inducted into the NATAS Silver Circle, which honors broadcasters who have been in the business for over 25 years.
