Preparing for wet roadways ahead of the rain

With rain on the way, roads are still wide open for your morning commute on Tuesday but, be prepared if they were to close.

The Riverside County Emergency Management Department said while rain is much needed in our area, it does expect flooding in some areas of Riverside County.

You are being asked to heed any warnings of road closures shall the rain cause any. If a roadway isn't closed and you come across a body of water, "turn around and don't drown."

"It's incredibly important. It doesn't take much water to move the vehicle, and if that water is moving at any kind of speed you can quickly be washed down and put in a very dangerous potentially deadly situation."
