Health officials launch ‘Heat-Related Illness Dashboard’ for Riverside County
Riverside County now has a dashboard showing data on heat-related illnesses.
Riverside University Health System launched the dashboard on Tuesday.
"As the hot weather continues in Riverside County, RivCo Public Health has created a heat-related illness dashboard that provides information about illnesses and deaths related to the high temperatures," wrote RUHS spokesperson Jose Arballo Jr.
The data shows that there have been two health-related deaths in the county, both in the Coachella Valley.
Riverside County has had 709 heat-related emergency department visits. Coachella Valley residents accounted for 299 of those visits.
2023 has the highest amount of heat-related ED visits over a four-year span.
