Desert Hot Springs High Families are finding normalcy at the first home game following Hilary

Desert Hot Springs High is hosting its first Football home game of the season. Families and friends came out to catch the action. Some say this is a big part of getting their child back into their regular routine following Tropical Storm Hilary.

One family is watching their uncle and brother play for the very first time in a junior varsity game. They say, Alexander Arias, number eighty one on junior varsity, was eager to get on the field for practice. His sister Irene Arias says he had his first in person practice following Hilary Wednesday. "It was really hard for him to miss practice," says number eighty one's sister Irene Arias. "He really did not want to miss it. But we weren't able to get out of our driveway to take them. Our cars would have gotten stuck in the mud. And so he was very upset that he had missed practice. When he was able to go to practice again. He was so excited. He was ready for it. So he's been he's been waiting, and he's excited about his first home game."

The Arias family says getting back to normal takes time but they are getting up earlier to check all of the road conditions. They say the home game is definitely helping their family get a routine and find some normalcy.
