Cathedral City High School students deliver ice, bins, and cleaning supplies to residents in Panorama Park

Clean-up efforts continue in the Panorama neighborhood of Cathedral City as many homes still remain covered in mud following Tropical Storm Hilary.

On Friday, the Cathedral City High School football team partnered with the City Police Officers Association and raised one thousand dollars. They pulled up in trucks and vans full of toiletries and cleaning supplies. Students provided 100 bins that were donated from the Palm Desert Costco.

Officer Borrego says they were able to use the donated funds to buy more supplies after all of the donated products.

On Thursday, Cathedral City High School ASB students were out helping residents during their recovery efforts, delivering ice to help deal with the scorching heat as work continues.

The Palm Springs Unified School District said that residents are in need of 27-gallon storage bins. Cathedral City High School will be collecting bins from anyone who wishes to donate.

If you would like to donate, the district asks you to drop it off Thursday or Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the front office of Cathedral City High School.

The Cathedral City Police Officers Association donated $1,000 towards the purchase of bins, however, Costco stepped up to donate 100 bins. The district said that the $1,000 will be used to purchase other items the neighbors need.

Members of the CCHS football team, along with the CCPOA, will be delivering bins on Friday morning.
