Pro-Palestine rally held in downtown Palm Springs

More than a hundred people attended a pro-Palestinian rally in downtown Palm Springs.

It came on a somber day of remembrance for many in the Jewish community known as the Night of Broken Glass, which was also remembered here in the valley today.

New Channel 3's Miyoshi Price covered both events getting two very different perspectives on the Israel-Hamas war. People at both gatherings with differing and emotional views on the violent conflict and what it means to people right here in Coachella Valley and beyond.

"That's a crime. We don't want to see children being dying. What I want to see, kids have been dying what I want to see civilians been dying. Yes, there's Wars is fine. You know, take the war to the Warriors, but don't take it on families and kids," said Muhammad Shalem, organizer of the rally.

The war in the Middle East has led to a number of organized rallies in the Coachella Valley, which have been peaceful.

We spoke with a Holocaust survivor on Thursday.

"Here we are again. Afraid to say we're Jewish, afraid of someone breaking in, have someone killing us or someone setting fire to our house? How, how, what and when will this end? It's very heavy on me," said Rickie Taras,

As we reported Thursday, the Palm Springs Police Department has communicated with the organizer of the rally, along with Jewish faith leaders in the community to ensure the rally and any potential counter-protests remain calm and free of any clashing.

Both gatherings today in Coachella Valley, hoping to raise awareness and support for their cause.
