Rancho Mirage High School football player Israel "Izzy" Ramirez has been recovering for weeks after suffering a brain aneurysm that required three emergency brain surgeries within a matter of days.

Izzy's teammates have been visiting him at a rehabilitation hospital in Loma Linda as he underwent physical therapy, learning how to walk and talk again.

A month ago, Izzy was fighting for his life. Tonight, Izzy surprised his teammates at their playoff game in Riverside. With the help of his loved ones, Izzy walked to his teammates on the sideline, where he was met with hugs and high-fives.

When News Channel 3's Caitlin Thropay spoke with Izzy nearly two weeks, he talked about how he misses playing football.

Izzy was expected to remain in the hospital for the next two months. His loved ones said he continues to make strides in his recovery every day.

Unfortunately, the Rattlers weren't able to get the win, but it's not all bad news, because Izzy continues his miraculous recovery.
