Indio International Tamale Festival is this weekend
Tamale lovers rejoice, the Indio International Tamale Festival returns to the Coachella Valley this weekend.
More than 150,000 people are expected to gather and celebrate food, family and Indio’s cultural heritage.
There will be tamale vendors selling all kinds of tamales, from traditional and gourmet to dessert tamales such as strawberry, chocolate, date, and raisin.
For the first time, CV Food Trucks will be incorporated into the festival. 9 food trucks will join in, offering a variety of delicious food, including vegan-friendly options.
There will also be carnival rides, beer gardens, and live music and entertainment.
The festival starts at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday in Oldtown Indio between Highway 111 and Indio Boulevard. Admission is free.
