Palm Springs Mayor makes State of the City address

Palm Springs Mayor Robert Moon made his his annual State of the City address Tuesday night.

Mayor Moon spoke at the Palm Springs Art Museum at 5:30 p.m. He says the city is moving forward with great excitement. Tuesday night, he delivered his annual State of the City address, hitting on a number of topics including the downtown re-development.

The Rowan Palm Springs is nearly complete and will have a number of new restaurants to go along with it. A new public park will also be built in downtown, creating a new city center.

“Construction and development in Palm Springs is booming so that’s really great for our economy here,” Mayor Moon said.

Mayor Moon also addressed a half cents sales tax on the ballot to help pay public safety and pension costs.
