Colorado man struck and killed by a driver on I-10 near Highway 62
A Colorado man was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday evening on Interstate 10 and Highway 62.
The Riverside County Coroner's Office said Erasto Dominguez-Castro, 61, of Colorado Springs, Colorado died minutes after he was struck by a car in the freeway's westbound lanes on Interstate 10.
The collision happened at around 6:07 p.m., according to a statement from the California Highway Patrol.
The statement from CHP Officer David Torres added that Dominguez-Castro was, for some unknown reason, standing in the freeway's number 4 lane also known as the slow lane when he was struck.
An Arcadia man who was driving the Nissan Maxima involved in the collision did not suffer or complain of any injuries, according to Torres and there were no additional details available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
