A Los Angeles International Airport traveler has been placed under federal quarantine at March Air Reserve Base and a minor who arrived among the 195 Americans flying from Wuhan, China, has been hospitalized, the Riverside University Health System announced Tuesday.
The traveler from LAX will be quarantined separately from the rest of the passengers. The traveler has shown no symptoms of novel coronavirus, but was moved there under an abundance of caution. The traveler will be held under quarantine until February 6.
The minor was transported from the base by ambulance Monday night accompanied by a parent. The decision was made out of an abundance of caution. The minor will undergo testing and observation at Riverside University Health System-Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
Samples taken from the minor will be submitted to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Results are expected later this week.
193 of the original 195 passengers who arrived from Wuhan remain at the base.
