Bicyclist dies after being struck by vehicle in Palm Desert Tuesday night
A bicyclist was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Palm Desert Tuesday night.
The crash happened at around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Country Club Drive and Cook Street.
A spokesperson with the Riverside County Sheriff's Office told News Channel 3 that deputies arrived at the scene and found the bicyclist, identified as a man, on the ground. He was transported to the hospital, where he was then pronounced dead.
The bicyclist was identified as Jay Groth, 62, of Indio.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, authorities confirmed.
