Palm Springs Police Department takes part in 2020 Warrior Walk, honoring fallen officers Jose Vega and Lesley Zerebny

The Palm Springs Police Department is taking part in the 2020 Warrior Walk Friday morning to honor fallen Palm Springs police officers Jose Vega and Lesley Zerebny.

The five mile walk is set to start at 7 a.m. at the Palm Springs police department. 

Officers Jose Vega and Lesley Zerebny who were murdered in 2016. Vega was killed just months before he planned to retire after 35 years of service. Zerebny had just returned to her patrol from maternity leave. 

This walk is just one of the many ways the department continues to honor the memory of Vega and Zerebny.

Other agencies have been invited to take part in Friday’s walk. The department says there will be a police escort as officers are walking. 

The walk is expected to conclude at the Palm Springs Police Department.
