Downtown Palm Springs cashes in on snowbird business spike
If you’ve been to downtown Palm Springs this weekend you’ve probably noticed few parking spots and bustling sidewalks full of visitors.
As the holidays wrap up, tourism and business continues to spike for local businesses cashing in on visitors from colder places up north.
Manager at Lolli & Pops Luis Gandy says his store on Palm Canyon has been “packed” with families and visitors mostly from Canada.
“We’ve actually had to call in people to come in and help us out because we’ve been that busy,” Gandy said.
Although the store is new to Palm Springs, they’ve noticed this time of year has brought sweet profits to the storefront just four months old.
The shop specializes in international candies and alcohol-inspired gummies — just a few of many products that have brought business from kids and adults looking to fix a sweet tooth.
