What a week in local high school football, highlighted by the annual Flag Game between La Quinta and Palm Desert. Didn’t see this coming. That’s the beauty of this rivalry, I guess. Palm Desert takes the Flag back with a 30-14 win over La Quinta. It’s the Aztecs first win under head coach Rudy Forti.

After a couple of weeks impacted by weather, Mother Nature made her presence felt again this week. The first week of the season saw two games canceled due to lightning and thunderstorms. The following week saw more cancellations due to the aftermath of Tropical Storm Hilary. Now this week, another storm has made its way
