Five Injured In Freeway Crash

A rollover crash on Interstate 10 near Whitewater sent five people to the hospital, including a child suffering from major injuries, Cal Fire officials said.

The crash was first reported at 3:59 p.m. on the freeway’s eastbound lanes, near the Whitewater rest stop. A white SUV had left the roadway and rolled onto its side.

Firefighters had to cut at least one person from the wreckage, Cal Fire officials said. All five were transported to local hospitals.
