Gas line ruptures in indio

A gas line ruptured at an Indio construction site around 1:40 this afternoon on the 83-600 block of Dr. Carreon Blvd near Van Buren St, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire is assisting the Gas Company, who have been called to the scene to stop the leak. Cal Fire says a construction crew struck the gas line, causing the break.

Authoritiesevacuated a few nearby residents, as a precaution, as repairs were made.
