LA bus evacuated after report of man with gun

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies cleared a Metro bus of passengers one-by-one after someone reported seeing a man with a gun on board.

The Los Angeles Times reports (http://lat.ms/1cAUeYF) a passenger called authorities shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday as the bus neared the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Deputies removed all 60 passengers, searching each individually.

The newspaper says the man with the gun apparently exited at a stop prior to deputies arriving.

He was described as being with three other people, two of whom were detained after being taken off the bus.

Investigators are reviewing video footage from an on-board camera for leads.
