According to Cal Fire, just before 4:30 p.m. they responded to the intersection of Flora Avenue and Cholla Drive, to a report that a car was on its side and power lines were down in the area.

Desert Hot Springs Police blocked off the intersection for safety, and Southern California Edison crews have been called to the scene. At last report, 34 customers were without power.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but we are told the driver was able to get out of the vehicle, but was still transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
