Highway 74 back open after head-on collison
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a traffic collision on Highway 74 at Mile Post 89 in the unincorporated County area of La Quinta located between Vista Point and Big Horn.
The first arriving engine company reported a two vehicle traffic collision, with one vehicle overturned, and one person trapped. There is a total of three patients. The person who was trapped was extricated at 5:42 p.m. and was transported by an air ambulance to an area hospital with moderate injuries.
The two additional patients were transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Highway 74 was closed at the base on the Palm Desert side for about an hour. All roads are back open again.
