Mongols roll into Palm Desert
The Mongol Motorcycle Club had a large meetup this weekend at the Courtyard Marriott. Dozens of motorcycles were parked at the hotel and Mongol members were patrolling the area around the hotel.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was out in force.
Our KESQ news team witnessed more than half a dozen people getting pulled over or detained on Cook Street and Frank Sinatra Drive.
According to deputies with the Sheriff’s Department, they are taking a proactive approach this weekend. Since “motorcycle enthusiasts” and other people are coming to the valley for the many events this weekend the population is going to swell, and they say the department is prepared.
We tried to get a comment from the Mongols at the Marriott about what there plans were this weekend, but they refused to talk to us.
