Narcotics Unit finds over 1K ecstasy pills stashed in puzzle box package
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department arrested a suspect on Wednesday after serving a search warrant at a home near the University of California Riverside.
The search warrant was served in the 3000 block of Iowa Avenue after the sheriff’s department was contacted by the Department of Homeland Security regarding an intercepted puzzle box package containing illegal narcotics, authorities said in a release.
The package contained 1,015 Ecstasy (MDMA) pills, originated in the Netherlands and was sent through the postal system to the home on Iowa Avenue.
Deputies said 21-year-old Sung Hee Jeong from Tunjunga was arrested at the home after the Narcotics Unit discovered the package of drugs. Authorities also found additional ecstasy pills, and Xanax pills inside the home.
A total of 1,140 ecstasy pills and 90 Xanax pills were discovered in the house. Authorities said the narcotics have an estimated street value of $23,250. Authorities suspect the pills were destined for college students.
Sung Hee Jeong was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for possession of a controlled substance for sale. The investigation is ongoing.
