Area gas prices continue steady climb
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose today to its highest amount since Jan. 13, 2016, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $2.979.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has risen 29 consecutive days, increasing 17.9 cents, including 1.1 cents on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 5.2 cents more than one week ago, 17.6 cents higher than one month ago and 53.2 cents greater than one year ago.
The streak of increases is the longest since a 35-day run from Jan. 31- March 6, 2015.
