COD celebrates largest graduating class

Friends and families gathered at College of the Desert’s football field to watch graduates walk across the stage to collect their hard earned degrees.

Friday night marked the largest graduating class in COD’s history.

For the third straight year, the college set a record for its graduating class with 1,220 degrees and credentials.

Many of the students will transfer to other colleges, including 12 campuses within the California State University System, eight University of California campuses, and other universities such as Birmingham Conservatoire – Birmingham City University.

Close to 500 students were expected at tonight’s ceremony, according to the school.
