Student Athlete of the Week: Xavier Prep’s Jenna Braun
There is no doubt about it the Xavier Prep volleyball team is the real deal with a senior led squad having high expectations.
“CIF and State is our goal. We will see if we can get there,” Jenna Braun said.
I would be smiling too if I could do what Jenna Braun can do. Not many big time spikes, but doing the dirty work on the volleyball court. Off the court doing the art work.
“I just have always had a passion for art, I love remodeling things. My room in particular and everyday I want to remodel our house actually. I have an eye for design I really love it,” Braun said.
She brings her two passions together to create a masterpiece.
“On the volleyball court I am really spunky and happy. I feel like when it comes to art you have to be like that. An open personality and a good teammate all the time,” Braun said.
That passion looks to be leading this senior to Forth Worth, Texas.
“Hoping to go to TCU to study interior design so we will see if volleyball works out,” Braun said.
When she took that trip to Texas she was actually on an official volleyball visit but whether she plays or not TCU still feels like home.
“I just love the campus, I feel like I fit in. Going back at the end of September to go watch a football game,” Braun said.
Jenna Braun is the type of person that makes other people feel at home.
“She’s a good kid. She’s great, lovable, kind, generous, she’s a good kid,” Natalie Allen said.
For now while she is still at home it is time to leave a lasting legacy with her life long friends.
“We actually were on varsity our freshman year so we all tried out and played well together and fit well and I knew freshman year we had a lot to give and contribute and it is really playing off this season,” Braun said.
