La Quinta man arrested for Burglary and Battery on a Peace Officer
An 18-year-old resident of La Quinta was arrested and booked Friday for Battery on a Peace Officer and Burglary.
It happened at 2:34 a.m. at La Casita Restaurant in Yucca Valley.
Deputies assigned to Yucca Valley responded to the report of a burglary and located him inside the restaurant destroying items.
He resisted arrest and assaulted a deputy during the arrest.
Ramirez-Ortega was found to be under the influence of hallucinogen mushrooms and was treated at Hi-Desert Medical Center.
Ramirez-Ortega is now at the Morongo Basin Jail with a bail of $100,000.
