Three ejected from vehicle after suspected DUI crash in Indio, four people hospitalized
Three people were ejected from a vehicle following a car crash Thursday night in Indio.
The collision occurred at around 9:05 p.m. on the Indio and Coachella city borders off Ave. 48 and Calhoun Street.
Indio Police told News Channel that the ejected occupants were in a silver Honda and all three persons were taken to the hospital immediately in critical condition. They remain in serious but stable condition.
The other vehicle involved was a Toyota truck with the driver also hospitalized. The driver of the Toyota pick-up truck has been arrested for a possible DUI, police confirmed.
The driver's identity was not released.
The road remained closed for approximately 5-6 hours before clearing up again.
