Community members provide input on plans to improve the Palm Springs Swim Center
Residents provided their input tonight at a community meeting focused of the development of plan to improve the Palm Springs Swim Center.
In the past year, management personnel had received complaints from some community members about the need for some infrastructure improvements at the facility.

The City is working on design concepts for facility improvements that will include locker rooms, restrooms, fencing and overall access.
"One of the first things we really wanted to look at was modernizing the facility and making sure that we had the appropriate ADA access that we need today," according to Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Director Yvonne Wise.
Ramps will be added to make accessing the pool deck easier for visitors who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices. Improvements to the restrooms and locker rooms are also a top priority, with a focus on added privacy in the showers.
The project design team held a presentation Tuesday night in Palm Springs to provide the public with an update on where the initial design process stands, and to get their input as they work to create final design plans.
“I thought it was very productive that people could say what they needed and the utilization. I think it was a very positive process," according to Palm Springs resident Mark Sappington.
“There was some great feedback and I think the consultants have some good ideas to go back with," said fellow Palm Springs resident Jerry Trussell.
