37-year-old pedestrian killed in Coachella crash
A person was killed in a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian Tuesday night in Coachella.
The incident took place around 10:40 P.M. off of Grapefruit Blvd. and Cesar Chavez St.
The man was identified as Robert Villa, 37, of Coachella.
Authorities said after the crash, the driver remained at the scene and called 911.
Westbound lanes were closed from Gateway Center to Avenue 49 as Riverside County Sheriff's Deputies conducted an investigation. They have since been re-opened.
