Indigenous people face disproportionate number of missing and murdered people with high numbers of unsolved cases.

There have been two cases late last month, one involving a Morongo Tribe member.

California launched Feather Alerts in 2023 to create a new system to help the state find Indigenous who have gone missing "under unexplainable or suspicious circumstances."

Feather Alerts are a resource available to law enforcement agencies and give immediate information to the public to help in the recovery of missing indigenous persons.
