Palm Springs Chick-fil-A location has some residents concerned about traffic impact
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) - Residents surrounding the Springs Shopping Mall in Palm Springs are concerned about how the addition of a Chick-fil-A will impact traffic.
On Tuesday, the Palm Springs Planning Commission voted 5-2 to approve a conditional use permit for a Chick-fil-A to be built on Ramon Road and Gene Autry Trail.
Residents like Georgia Tournai, who live in the nearby Dream Homes neighborhood in Cathedral City, say this will bring more congestion, pollution and safety concerns.
“People that live in Dreams Homes as well as Lakeview are not going to be able with ease to get in and out of their communities as well as emergency responders are not going to be able to get in and out either.

Mission Drive and San Luis Rey are the only two roads that allow access in and out of the Dream Homes neighborhood, both surrounding the shopping center.
Tournai say this will add to the already high volume of cars that pass through every day.
"We saw it with the Gene Autry construction and various construction along the way that it’s less than impossible especially during those peak hours to get in and out of Dream Homes.”

Tournai wants the city of Palm Springs to keep Dream Homes residents in consideration and is calling on neighbors to attend the city council meeting on April 9th to voice their concerns.
