Dry through the weekend, changes next week

We hit 75 degrees yesterday and will be close to that number again today.

High pressure will be the dominant feature through the weekend, but a large trough is developing for early next week.

Tonight will be clear and cool, and a good night to watch the peaking Geminid Meteor Shower, which could produce 60+ meteor sightings per hour.

Next week the chance of rain increases across the Southland as a large trough develops.

We looking at a chance of showers by Monday, and lingering through at least Wednesday of next week.
