Mild conditions continue ahead of rain later this week

It's noticeably cloudier today than it was over the weekend. These clouds are mostly upper-level and are just passing through.

A low pressure system remains off the northwestern coast of California. The system will continue to move closer to Southern California over the next few days. The low is also bringing in moisture from the southwest, allowing for more clouds in the sky.

Looking ahead to the middle of the week, we are looking at the potential for some rain. Showers could start as early as Wednesday afternoon. Confidence in exact timing and impacts remains moderate for now but is increasing with each update.

By Wednesday evening, we could see a few hundredths of an inch of rain. We are not tracking excessive rain here on the valley floor, but areas around the valley could see some more significant totals. Snow is also possible for higher elevations.
