Winds Depart, Leaving Cool Weather in place Today
A fast-moving trough of low pressure passed through the Valley late yesterday. This system brought damaging winds to the desert, snow to our mountain communities and even some light rain to parts of the Coachella Valley. The fresh snow is visible in Long Valley above the Mountain Station on Mt. San Jacinto:
Now winds are calmer, skies are cleared, and all Valley related wind advisories have expired. Here's a look at some of the strongest gusts recorded around the Coachella Valley:
Winds are calming down nicely, and while we may see the occasional gust, winds are generally expected to remain below the 10mph mark.
The quick moving low has pushed into the Four Corners States, and left in it's wake some chilly conditions.
We'll be cooler than normal today, with a gradual warming trend towards the end of the week.
