Firefighters battling brush fire north of Glendora
A brush fire raced through dry vegetation in the hills north of Glendora Friday, burning about 100 acres and torching a cabin in the remote area.
Fire crews from Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties were assisting Angeles National Forest crews in battling the blaze, which was reported about 1:20 p.m. off Highway 39 near Rincon Red Box Road.
One helicopter involved in the firefighter made an emergency landing alongside a reservoir, possibly after clipping some power lines in the area. There were no reports of any injuries.
The fire quickly erupted burning at least 10 acres, and spread to a cabin nestled in the woods.
Glendora police sent an alert to residents about the fire, but said the blaze appeared to be too far from the city to present any immediate danger.
